Spirit is a Bone was created specifically for the Ogden Museum of Southern Art and is inspired by the landscape of South Louisiana. It incorporates elements from an earlier sculpture, Phantom Threads. I often reuse elements from previous installations in new work, giving new life to previously used materials, in this case vintage bedsheets.
